The Minister of Youth and Sports hands over the presidency of the 45th session to his Egyptian counterpart
His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, handed over the presidency of the 45th session to His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports and Head of the Executive Office.
The delivery came during the opening session of the meeting of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, in the presence of the Ministers of Youth and Sports in the Arab countries, and Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League.
The meeting touched on a number of youth and sports files, including: considering Lebanon’s request to submit a file on the events and activities that are being implemented during the current year 2022 on the occasion of Beirut’s hosting of the Arab Youth Capital’s activities, in addition to the events and activities during Iraq’s hosting of events on the occasion of (Baghdad, the capital of Arab youth 2021). .
The draft agenda of the Council included; Launching a competition for Arab youth to design a logo for the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers based on the logo of the League of Arab States.
And he discussed the implementation of the decision of the 44th session of the Council to launch virtual envoys for Arab youth under the names “Bilqis and Tariq”, where an animation company was contracted to design 6 videos on the topics of “The Arab League’s vision for youth development, youth, security and peace, youth empowerment socially and economically, civic participation, Renouncing violence, extremism and terrorism, illegal immigration.”
The council discussed projects of Arab youth and sports programs and activities to be implemented in the coming period, in addition to promoting and supporting volunteering and participating in events and events organized by the State of Qatar on the occasion of its hosting of the FIFA World Cup, and the launch of the Arab strategy to invest in youth energies (2022-2025)
The Executive Office was elected, headed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi from Egypt, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait, Iraq and Libya, in addition to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Palestine, were elected as permanent members of the Executive Office.
His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Azzam Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Counselor Fahman Hamada, a member of the Higher Sports Technical Committee supporting the Council, was accompanied by the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports.
